Free Password Generator

Strong, random, and private — generated locally in your browser.

Entropy: — bits

Private by design: this page uses your browser's crypto.getRandomValues — no password is sent to any server, stored in cookies, or saved on this device. For important accounts, use a password manager and turn on 2FA.

FAQ

Is this password generator safe to use?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser with crypto.getRandomValues, the same cryptographic randomness browsers use for security features. No password or passphrase ever leaves your device.

Do you store the passwords I generate?

No. Nothing is sent to a server, saved in cookies, or written to storage. If you close the tab, the generated password is gone — copy it to your password manager first.

Random characters or passphrase — which should I pick?

For maximum strength per character, pick random characters (16+ characters). For a password you must type or remember, pick a 5–6 word passphrase — about 40–48 bits of entropy, strong enough for most accounts and far easier to recall.

What does the entropy number mean?

Entropy measures how hard a password is to guess by brute force. Roughly: under 60 bits is OK for low-risk accounts, 60–90 bits is strong, over 90 bits is very strong. Longer passwords and larger character sets raise entropy.

Does this generator work offline?

Yes. This page is a single self-contained file with no external resources. Once it has loaded, you can disconnect and keep generating passwords — nothing is ever sent to a server.
